Sotropi at Greek language translates as keelson . It is one of the basic elements structural of ships .The entire vessel is build above of this .Only those who have the knowledge are aware of its existence. It is the same with the ship models that we build . Are addressed to those who know about ships. With this blog we will try to present the models who we will construct. Our sources mainly come from blueprints and archives from Naval's Museums , international bibliography and cooperations with institutes , like our participation (2001-2006) in Jason's Argo , a construction project of an ancient Greek ship . Our models faithfully follow the lines and drawings of ships who depict. The same happens with the materials we use, we try to use every time the same material as the original part. Next to the name of the model, we report the man-hours required for completion. It is very difficult to estimate the time , the effort to approximate the original and avoid errors . I hope you will find our effort interesting. Please feel free to contact with us via email ( babiskark@gmail.com ) to ask any query or information. Thank you for your time.
